CHICAGO — A man robbed a cashier at an Edgewater convenience store Monday evening, police said.

Around 8:40 p.m., a man armed with a handgun entered a store at 6150 N. Broadway St. and held a 27-year-old cashier at gunpoint while asking her to empty out the register, said officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesperson.

The cashier complied and placed cash in a bag, which the offender took and fled in a red four-door car southbound on Broadway, Estrada said. No shots were fired and no one was injured during the incident.

The store is a CVS, a source confirmed.

Police described the robber as a white Hispanic male ages 20-30, weighing 225 to 260 pounds and between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-9. Hen was also described as wearing dark green and blue hooded shirt.

There were two store robberies on the same block on Nov. 26 at 4:19 a.m. at 7:40 p.m., according to police reports. In addition to CVS, there is also a Walgreens on the block.
