CHICAGO — Six people were injured — including two police officers — in a Pershing Road crash Sunday afternoon, police said.

Two cars got into an accident around 2:45 p.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of West Pershing Road when one of the cars lost control in the snow and crossed the center line, striking another car, police said.

Officers responding to the accident were driving west on Pershing when they swerved to avoid a pedestrian in the street and also lost control in the snow. Their squad car sideswiped one of the cars involved in the earlier crash before it hit two other cars, police said.

The two officers were brought to Mount Sinai Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

A man involved in the initial crash was brought to Mercy Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A man hurt when the squad car crashed was brought to St. Bernard Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and two adults involved in both crashes were brought to Stroger Hospital in unknown condition, police said.
