CHICAGO — Three men have been charged with robbing women walking alone in Lakeview, police said.

In two robberies early Saturday, the men saw a woman who was walking alone and used a car to block her path once she came to an alley, according to a Chicago Police news release. The men then got out of the car, told her they had a gun and demanded she give them her belongings.

Police said the robberies occurred:

• 2:40 a.m. in the 900 block of West Grace Street

• 2:45 a.m. in the 1200 block of West Waveland Avenue

A friend of one of the victims was nearby and got the license plate of the robbers' car and gave it to officers, police said. Officers stopped the car in the 1600 block of North Lake Shore Drive and took the men into custody, recovering everything that had been stolen during the robberies, police said.

Joseph Lewis, 20, of the 11200 block of South Peoria Street; Donzell Lloyd, 19, of the 8800 block of South Dante Avenue; and Jwan Farley, 20, of the 8100 block of South Kenwood Avenue have been charged with robbery and aggravated robbery, police said.
