WEST RIDGE — Considering buying a lottery ticket in Chicago? You might as well take a chance in West Ridge, where two people have bought winning tickets in the last month.

Wednesday night a winning ticket worth $350,000 was sold at the 7-Eleven at 2741 W. Touhy Ave.  — the corner of Touhy and California. The win nets the store a $3,500 bonus.

All five numbers picked matched the Lucky Day Lotto evening drawing, lottery officials said.

They urged the winner to sign the back of the ticket and tuck it away in "a safe place" until she or he can get to one of five lottery centers in Illinois, which must be done within the next year in order to redeem the prize.

It's not the first lucky ticket sold in the neighborhood over the last few weeks.

On Nov. 12 another lucky North Side gas station shopper hit the jackpot — $3.25 million in Lotto winnings.

That winning ticket was sold at the BP gas station at 1841 W. Devon Ave.

For selling the winning ticket, that gas station will get a $32,500 bonus — equal to 1 percent of the total prize.

In February, a Morse Avenue convenience store sold a $450,000 winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket.
