UPTOWN — An art studio offering weekly fine art classes for students age 4 and up is heading to Uptown.

StudioUs is currently in the process of moving into a space at 4806 N. Clark St., according to owner/director Rachel Myers.

Each level of the curriculum is shaped "to the unique needs of each age group" and are based on "classic art training methods," according to its website.

"Students progress through projects that emphasize core art concepts including shape, balance, perspective, color mixing, shading, and tone, while advancing from basic line drawings and dry media to photorealistic paintings in watercolor and acrylic paint," the school's website said.

The class schedule features classes 7 days a week. Classes for students ages 4-6 are $100 per month and classes for students 7 and older are $150 per month, according to the school.

In addition to foundational courses, the studio also offers classes in drawing, watercolors, acrylics and charcoal and chalk pastels, according to its website.

Myers hopes to have an opening date in the next few weeks, she said.
