CHICAGO — A shooting in Garfield Park killed a 19-year-old man early Thursday, police said.
At 1:16 a.m., officers responding to a call of shots fired found the man in the 300 block of South Whipple Street, police said. The man had been shot in his head and chest.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
He has been identified as Marqual Bailey, of the 3000 block of West Washington Boulevard, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Bailey was a documented gang member, a police source said.
No one was in custody.
