BRIDGEPORT — Friends of a Bridgeport woman who lost most of her possessions in a weekend fire have started a GoFundMe page to buy her new clothes and help her find somewhere to live.

The Sunday night fire ripped through her apartment building at 3549 S. Halsted St., the home of the Soluri & Sons Italian Deli.

"I've lost everything," Kelly told DNAinfo. "I'm going to be 65 years old in March, and I have nothing."

Around 8:30 p.m., a fire started in the basement, authorities said. The Chicago Fire Department was able to put out the blaze, witnesses said. There were no injuries reported.

The fire put the Soluri deli out of business and left Kelly with nothing but a pair of slippers and the clothes on her back.
