WICKER PARK —  This Sunday, a salon is offering complimentary haircuts to anyone who donates a gently-used warm winter coat.

Set for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, the "Cuts for Coats" drive will take place at Bang Salon, 1259 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Wicker Park, around the corner from the CTA Blue Line Division "L" stop.

A worker at the salon, which relocated from Ashland Avenue to Milwaukee Avenue in August, said the coat drive will be Bang's second annual "cuts for coats."

Last year, about 35 coats were donated in exchange for a haircut. Coats for babies, children, teens and adults will be accepted throughout the day and early arrival is encouraged, because the haircuts will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

"Please help the 5,000+ people experiencing homelessness in Chicago this winter stay warm," the salon posted on its Facebook page.
