Uptown Shooting Wounds Man, 22, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 22-year-old man was shot in Uptown Sunday afternoon, according to police.

The man was walking at 4:45 p.m. in the 4800 block of North Sheridan Road when he heard shots being fired, police said. He then ran to the 4600 block of North Sheridan where he realized he had been shot, police said.

He was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in good condition with a gunshot wound to his right leg, police said.

No arrests have been made. The man is a documented gang member, according to a police source.
