CHICAGO — A man tried to lure two girls into a car in Hermosa Friday evening, police said in a community alert.

At around 6 p.m., a 10-year-old and a 14-year-old girl were playing outside in the 4000 block of West Wabansia Avenue when a man pulled up in a vehicle along the curb and motioned them to come closer, police said.

When the girls approached the vehicle, the man told them to get in so he could take them to the store. The girls ran away and alerted an adult, who contacted the police. The man drove away westbound on Wabansia Avenue, police said.

The man was described as a white or Hispanic man between the ages of 20-40 with a goatee, police said. He was wearing a blue baseball cap and a black sweater.

The vehicle was described as a newer, larger four-door type with the color in-between green and blue, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 312-744-8200 or submit anonymous tips to TIPSOFT.COM.
