Chinatown Stabbing Leaves 1 Dead, 3 Wounded, Police Say

CHICAGO — A man was killed and three others were wounded in a stabbing in Chinatown Monday evening, police said.

At 8:15 p.m., officers responded to a call of a person down in the 200 block of West 23rd Street and found a 50-year-old man lying in the street, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was stabbed in his back and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, Pacheco said.

A 23-year-old man was also found nearby with a stab wound in hs groin and was taken to Stroger Hospital where his condition is listed as critical, Pacheco said.

Two more men ages 37 and 45 took themselves to Stroger Hospital with stab wounds shortly afterward. They are believed to have been involved in the same stabbing incident, and their conditions have been stabilized, Pacheco said.

Detectives are questioning someone in the stabbing, Pacheco said.
