CHICAGO — A woman gave birth to a baby on a Blue Line station platform early Monday, officials said.

About 2 a.m., the woman, 26, was at the Blue Line subway station at 150 W. Congress Parkway when she gave birth to a girl, said Chief Juan Hernandez, a Chicago Fire spokesman.

The woman gave birth before an ambulance arrived. She and her baby were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition after the birth, Hernandez said.
