CHICAGO — A shooting in Auburn Gresham wounded a 23-year-old man Sunday night, police said.

At 8:15 p.m., the man was walking in the 8700 block of South Emerald Avenue when someone driving past in a dark-colored car fired shots, said Officer Laura Amezaga, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was hit in his left foot and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical in good condition, Amezaga said. The shooter drove away.

The man was a self-admitted gang member, police sources said.

No one was in custody.
