CHICAGO — Odell Jones, 22, was shot dead in West Englewood on Sunday, officials said.
At 12:50 a.m., officers responded to calls of shots fired and found the man lying face-down on the sidewalk in the 6400 block of South Oakley Avenue, police said. The man had been hit in his back.
Jones, of the same block where he was killed, was pronounced dead at 1:17 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
No one was in custody.
