CHICAGO — A shooting in Austin left a 31-year-old man dead on Wednesday night, police said.
At 8:07 p.m., officers responding to a call of a "person down" found the man bleeding on the sidewalk in the 5200 block of West Quincy Street, police said.
The man had been shot in his right shoulder and was taken to Loretto Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
He has been identified as Roy Love, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. The office did not release his home address as of Thursday afternoon.
Police originally said Love as 29.
