CHICAGO — A stabbing in Morgan Park killed Renee Davis, 49, on Tuesday morning, officials said.
About 7:19 a.m., officers were responding to a call of a person stabbed in the 1300 block of West 108th Place, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago Police spokesman. They found a woman lying on the floor with a puncture wound in her shoulder.
The woman was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, Sweeney said.
Davis, of suburban Joliet, was pronounced dead at 7:19 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
An autopsy showed the woman died of sharp force injury in her chest in a homicide, according to the Medical Examiner's Office.
