Jefferson Park Garage Burglaries Trigger Police Warning

JEFFERSON PARK — Five garage burglaries have been reported in Jefferson Park since Nov. 1, police announced in a Tuesday community alert.

In each incident, someone kicked or pried open an overhead garage door, police said. In at least one case, the burglar entered through an unlocked door.

Stolen items have included lawn care equipment, bicycles, computers and IPads, police said.

The burglaries were reported at the following times and locations:

• Between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Nov. 1 in the 5500 block of West Edmunds Street

• Between 5 p.m. on Nov. 3 and 4 p.m. on Nov. 4 in the 5500 block of West Higgins Avenue

• Between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Nov. 5 in the 4700 block of North Long Avenue

• Between 8:40 a.m. and 9:40 p.m. on Nov. 8 in the 5500 block of West Giddings Street

• Between 12 p.m. and 2:40 p.m. on Nov. 14 in the 5200 block of North Ludlam Avenue
