CHICAGO — Victor Fernando Garcia, 26, was fatally shot in Brighton Park early Monday, officials said.
At 3:40 a.m., officers found the man on the sidewalk in the 2500 block of West 47th Street, police said. He was suffering from gunshot wounds to his left shoulder and right leg.
The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.
Garcia, of the 4800 block of South Winchester, was pronounced dead at 4:32 a.m., and an autopsy showed he died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
He was a documented gang member, a police source said.
No arrests have been made.
