CHICAGO — A shooting in Back of the Yards critically wounded a 43-year-old woman Thursday, police said.
At 5:23 p.m., the woman was standing in front of a home in the 4800 block of South Winchester Avenue when a blue minivan drove by and someone inside fired shots, police said.
The woman was hit in the back of her neck and was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.
The woman did not appear to be the intended target, police sources said.
No one was in custody.
