Barack Obama Celebrated His Win In Chicago 8 Years Ago (PHOTOS)

DOWNTOWN — It was just eight years ago that Barack Obama was celebrating his election win at Grant Park.

Obama, then a senator representing Illinois, and his campaign opted to celebrate election night — Nov. 4, 2008 — in Chicago, where Obama had lived and worked for years. The city estimated 150,000 people attended the event, according to the New York Times.

"If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer," Obama told the large crowd.
