MOUNT GREENWOOD — A pro-police group and an activist are each planning separate protests in Mount Greenwood on Election Day.

Blue Lives Matter and activist Jedidah Brown have scheduled separate protests to take place by the intersection of 111th Street and Kedzie Avenue in Mount Greenwood on Tuesday.

The Blue Lives Matter protest is scheduled for 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, while Brown's protest is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Brown made a name for himself when he rushed the stage after the Donald Trump rally at the UIC Pavilion was canceled in March

On Facebook Brown wrote: "I am begging everyone on Tuesday to go vote, then meet us at 111th and Kedzie at 5:30 p.m. until!!! I am not leaving and we will get the election updates on the very grounds where White Supremacy obviously thinks it's safe to thrive in Chicago!"

On Facebook Blue Lives Matter called for "all the citizens of Chicago to take a stand."

"We have continued to watch these activists take control of our streets, block traffic, and disrupt peaceful community gatherings," Blue Lives Matter wrote on Facebook. "No longer shall we sit by idly and watch this hate group continue their reign of anarchy on our streets of Chicago."

After Saturday's shooting of Joshua Beal by an off-duty Chicago Police sergeant, police supporters and activists attended a rally on Sunday.
