'Exorcist' Filming To Shut Down Grant Park Traffic On Election Day

By David Matthews | November 7, 2016 3:19pm

DOWNTOWN — "The Exorcist" TV series is filming in Grant Park on Tuesday and will shut down a key thoroughfare for much of Election Day.

The new Friday night drama from Fox will close Jackson Boulevard between Columbus Drive and Michigan Avenue from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, the city said.

Traffic on Columbus and Michigan will not be affected.

The city advises motorists use Monroe Street, Lake Shore Drive or Congress Parkway to reach Columbus.

"The Exorcist," based off the classic 1973 horror film, premiered in September and airs at 8 p.m. on Fridays. The show starring Geena Davis is one of a record number of TV shows filming in Chicago.
