CHICAGO — A 23-year-old man was shot dead in Washington Heights Saturday, police said.

At 3:40 p.m., the man was standing outside in the 10100 block of South Halsted Street when a man approached him and shot him, police said.

He was hit in his face and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The man has been identified as Elijah Imani Terry, of the 1100 block of West 107th Street, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

No one was in custody.
