Senaka Octavius, 18, Killed In Austin Shooting

CHICAGO — An 18-year-old man was shot to death in Austin on Friday, police said.

At 5 p.m., residents heard a gun shot and found the man unresponsive in the 4700 block of West Congress Parkway, police said. The man was shot in his chest.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition and was later pronounced dead, police said.

The man was identified as Senaka Harrison Octavius, of the 1600 block of South Christiana, in Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records. Octavius was pronounced dead at 5:41 p.m.

The man was a documented gang member, police said.

No one was in custody.
