Cubs Fans Jump Into Chicago River, Do 'Trust Falls' Off Traffic Lights

By Ariel Cheung | November 4, 2016 3:36pm | Updated on November 4, 2016 5:36pm

DOWNTOWN;— Cubs fans attending the massive Friday rally Downtown started an alarming trend: jumping from great heights into throngs of people (or into the river).;

An estimated five million people attended the Cubs rally between fans in Wrigleyville and Grant Park, the city said. Based on the smell of marijuana on Michigan Avenue and the liquor bottles strewn about Grant Park, it was not an entirely sober event.

After the Grant Park rally wrapped up, these fans jumped into the river:

This man climbed a traffic light, and fell into the crowd (he is seen hugging his friend afterward, and appears to be OK).

This woman's backwards jump startled the crowd.

This man's "trust fall" from a 17-foot statue happened before the rally made it Downtown.

Details on arrests or hospitalizations related to the parade and rally were not available as of 3:30 p.m.
