Englewood, Auburn Gresham Shootings Wound 3 People, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings in Englewood and Auburn Gresham wounded three people on Wednesday, police said.

• At 11:35 p.m., a 24-year-old man was shot in Auburn Gresham, police said. He was driving in the 1400 block of West 87th Street when someone in a cream-colored car fired shots at him.

The man was hit in his back and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 10:15 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in Englewood, police said. He was in the street in the 6600 block of South Bishop when a man walked out of an alley and fired shots.

The man was hit in his left hip and left arm and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 8:30 p.m., a 36-year-old man was shot in Auburn Gresham, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man was in a car in the 8600 block of South Hermitage Avenue when someone with a gun walked up to him and tried to rob him.

During the robbery, the victim was shot in his right leg, Pacheco said. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

No one was in custody.
