ARMOUR SQUARE — The Chicago White Sox have congratulated the Cubs on their first World Series Championship since 1908.

On a Sox video billboard just off the Dan Ryan Expy. near Guaranteed Rate Field, you'll find this message congratulating the North Siders for clinching their first World Series Title in 108 years

The Sox also took to Twitter to share the love — and made sure to mention that the win was another World Championship for Chicago, not the only one.

Last month when reporting on the Cubs' historic season, some media outlets seemed to forget about the winning 2005 White Sox.

In September, the Sox congratulated the Cubs after the North Siders clinched the National League Central title. After St. Louis lost 6-2 at San Francisco on Sept. 15, the Cubs won the division for the first time since 2008.

The Sox gave the Cubs another nod when they clinched their first National League Championship since 1945.

Last year, the Sox congratulated the Cubs on winning the National League Division Series against the Cardinals and their trip to the National League Championship Series against the Mets.

After the Sox won the 2005 World Series, the Cubs took out a full-page ad in the Tribune offering their congrats.

The Cubs and Wrigley Field are 95 percent owned by a trust established for the benefit of the family of Joe Ricketts, owner and CEO of DNAinfo.com. Joe Ricketts has no direct involvement in the management of the iconic team.
