BEVERLY — Buona Beef will hand out 108 free beef sandwiches at all 17 of its locations Thursday to celebrate the Chicago Cubs' World Series win.
The Berwyn-based chain's only restaurant in the city is at 10633 S. Western Ave in Beverly. It opens at 10:30 a.m.
The seven-inch beef sandwiches — the most popular item on Buona's menu — are available to dine-in customers who mention the offer upon ordering.
The promotion is meant to celebrate the end of the Cubs' 108-year World Series drought. Buona also serves its beef sandwiches at both Wrigley and Guaranteed Rate fields.
The Beverly restaurant opened in March. The location at 107th Street and Western Avenue was five years in the making and represented a $4 million investment for the chain.
Buona is planning to open more restaurants in city and suburbs. The Chicago locations could open as early as next year with locations in the Near West Side, South Loop, Lincoln Park and Wicker Park all being considered.
