CHICAGO — Kevin Wilson, 28, died a month after being shot in Chatham, officials said.
On Sept. 27, Wilson was walking in the 300 block of East 81st Street when two men walked up to him from behind and shot him, police said. He was hit twice in his back and was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition.
Wilson, of the 1400 block of East 79th Street, was pronounced dead at 1:01 p.m. Monday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed Wilson died of complications from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.
