South Chicago Shooting Kills Khan Butler, 31, Authorities Say

CHICAGO — A 31-year-old man died a day after being shot in South Chicago Saturday night, according to police.

The man had been shot in the head in the 8200 block of South Houston Avenue at about 8:35 p.m. Saturday, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago Police spokesman.

He got himself to Trinity Hospital and was later transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he died at 1:23 p.m. Sunday, according to Sweeney and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

The man has been identified as Khan Butler, who lived a block from where he was shot, according to the medical examiner.

No arrests have been made.
