Chicago Cops Issue 'Alert' for 'Armed and Dangerous' Cubs Team

By Alisa Hauser | October 26, 2016 1:46pm

CHICAGO — The Chicago and Cleveland police communication departments are flexing comedy writing chops to root for their respective baseball teams using Onion-esque humor on social media.

After the Cubs fell 6-0 to Cleveland Indians in Game 1 of the World Series on Tuesday, Chicago Police posted a news alert on its Facebook page.

The alert, written in the style of a traditional community alert, says that the Bureau of Detectives are on the hunt for 25 male offenders, various ages/races, last seen wearing gray and blue jerseys and blue baseball caps.

These men are expected to tie the World Series in the 2400 block of Ontario Street in Cleveland at approx. 6:08 p.m. Wednesday, the alert said.

The alert was likely issued in response to the Cleveland Police Dept., which apparently thought the Cubs' offense was nonexistent in Game 1.
