LINCOLN PARK — An 1890s-era Romanesque mansion at 632 W. Deming Place featuring six bedrooms — five of them with en-suite bathrooms — and a separate coach house is listed for $8,450,000.

Caroline Moellering and Suzanne Gignilliat with Coldwell Banker are co-listing the home that underwent a complete, two-year restoration.

Designed in 1895 by Chicago architect Edmund Krause, who designed the PrivateBank Theatre in the Loop and other mansions in Lincoln Park the Gold Coast, the home started as a single-family home but was later divided into six apartments before the latest owner converted it back to a single-family home.

Architecture/design firm von Weise Associates did the renovations, which involved updating the kitchen and the bathrooms and restoring many of the home's historic features, like the original stained glass and the original wooden stairwell.

The 13,000-square-foot home also includes a wine cellar, a dog run, a three-car garage and a long driveway complete with snow-melting technology. The coach house has its own kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.

"It's a really extraordinary home, a magnificent house that is rarely available these days," Gignilliat said. "It is on a deep and wide lot, and has been completely restored. The attention to historical detail is beautiful, but it also has a modern floor plan — it is warm and bright, with big windows to let in lots of natural light."
