CHICAGO — Jaylen Howard, 16, was shot dead in West Humboldt Park on Monday, officials said.
At 4:45 p.m., the boy was shot multiple times in the 1200 block of North Pulaski Road, said Officer Laura Amezaga. He was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital.
Howard, of the 1300 block of North Massasoit, was pronounced dead at 5:25 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died of multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.
The boy was a documented gang member, Amezaga said.
No one was in custody.
