CHICAGO — As the Windy City prepares for another long, cold and snowy winter, daily CTA commuters can't help but ask: When are those heat lamps going to start working again?

Good news: Although the heat lamps are labeled to work between Nov. 1 and March 31, the heaters are already warming up the platforms, according to CTA spokesperson Irene Ferradaz.
The cta heat lamps are officially on for winter. This makes me sad because that's not enough to keep me warm in the winter 😭

The heat lamps usually start operating mid-October and get turned off around March 31, Ferradaz said.
