WICKER PARK — The former Columbus Curry spot in Wicker Park will soon be serving up "new fusion Asian" fare, according to Rahul Bajaj, who leased out his restaurant to another chef.

The Walking Duck will open this December at 1359 N. Milwaukee Ave. under chef Sittipat "Ong" Satangmongkol, who took over the lease for the fast casual Indian restaurant started by Bajaj.

Satangmongkol, who was born and raised in Thailand, learned to make seafood boils at a Thai restaurant in New Orleans. His 16-year history in the restaurant business has spawned four Chicago restaurants: Silom12, Silom12 Express, Tsukiji Fish Market and Mad Boiler.

Jameson Commercial Real Estate agents brokered the deal and announced The Walking Duck in a news release.

Bajaj, a former Bollywood star, opened the 50-seat fast casual Columbus Curry in April 2015. The restaurant closed in July.
