West Englewood Homes Targeted in String of Burglaries, Police Say

CHICAGO — Police are asking West Englewood residents to be on the lookout after a string of recent home burglaries in the area.

At least four homes in the area have been burglarized since Oct. 6, police said in a community alert.

In the incidents, one or more people force themselves into the homes through doors or windows and steal property, police said.

The incidents happened at:

• 4 p.m. on Oct. 6 in the 1600 block of West 66th Street

• 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 8 in the 6800 block of South Justine Street

• 11:30 p.m. in the 6700 block of South Wood Street

• 11:10 p.m. in the 6600 block of South Hermitage Avenue

Police do not have a description of the burglars.

Anyone with information on the crimes is asked to call area detectives at 312-747-8273.
