6 Northwest Side Home Burglaries Spur Police Warning

CHICAGO — Six home burglaries were reported in Dunning and Portage Park during an eight-day period this month, according to a police community alert issued Wednesday.

In each case, someone entered "through doors and windows" during daytime hours and made off with electronics, jewelry, cash and other items, police said.

The burglaries were reported at the following times and locations:

• Between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Oct. 10 in the 3200 block of North Narragansett Avenue

• Between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Oct. 11 in the 6000 block of West Byron Street

• Between 8:45 p.m. on Oct. 12 and 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 13 in the 6300 block of West School Street

• Between 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. on Oct. 14 in the 5800 block of West Waveland Avenue

• Between 5 p.m. and 5:40 p.m., between Oct. 12 and Oct. 14 in the 5700 block of West Addison Street

• Between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 in the 5700 block of West School Street
