Man Killed In West Englewood Mass Shooting Identified By Authorities

CHICAGO — Five people were wounded during a shooting in West Englewood on Monday night, police said.

At 8:50 p.m., a group of people were standing in a front yard in the 6700 block of South Winchester when several men walked up, fired shots and ran away, police said.

A 20-year-old man was shot in his head and killed, police said. He has been identified as Timothy Agnew, who lived in the 8100 block of South Maryland Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner.

A 13-year-old boy was shot in his right thigh and taken to Comer Childrens Hospital in critical but stable condition, police said.

A 23-year-old man who was hit in his left leg and a 30-year-old man who was hit in his left leg and buttocks were taken to Stroger Hospital. A 34-year-old man was hit in his right leg, shoulder and right hand and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center. Their conditions were not available but they were listed as "stable," police said.

No one was in custody.
