JEFFERSON PARK — A man tried to lure a 15-year-old girl walking in Jefferson Park Saturday afternoon, police said.

The girl was walking in the 6100 block of West Berwyn Avenue near Austin-Foster Playlot park, when a man driving a white car pulled along side her and asked "Do you need a ride?" police said.

The teen replied no and the car drove off westbound on Berwyn Avenue. Her father called police when she arrived home, according to a statement from the department.

Police described the man as white, approximately 50 years old, heavy set, with balding brown hair and an unshaven face. He wore glasses and a green shirt. The car was a newer model white sedan that had no visible damage and appeared clean, police said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 312-744-8200.
