CHICAGO — A shooting in West Englewood left Devante Norwood, 22, dead on Thursday night, police said.
At 9:59 p.m., Norwood was standing in a gas station parking lot in the 7000 block of South Ashland Avenue when a man walked up, shot him and then drove away in a black SUV, police said. Norwood was hit in his head and back.
Norwood, of the 6800 block of South Bishop Street, was pronounced dead at 10:22 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
Norwood was a documented gang member, police said.
No one was in custody.
