CHICAGO — A 44-year-old man was wounded in an Austin shooting Friday afternoon, according to police.

The man was on the corner in the 5400 block of West Walton Street when at 2:31 p.m. a green car drove up and someone inside opened fire, said Officer Kevin Quaid, a Chicago Police spokesman.

He was struck in his mouth and was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was not released but police considered him to be stable.
