4 Shot In East Garfield Park Thursday, Police Say

CHICAGO — Four men were wounded in an East Garfield Park shooting Thursday afternoon, according to police.

The men were in the 2700 block of West Lexington Avenue at 1 p.m. when shots rang out, said Michelle Tannehill, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

A 19-year-old man was struck in his face and was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, Tannehill said.

A 21-year-old was struck in his right thigh and was also taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, Tannehill said.

An 18-year-old was struck in his thigh and was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, Tannehill said.

A 31-year-old man was struck in his buttocks and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not released but police considered him to be stable.

The shooting appears to be gang related, police said.
