EDGEWATER — A two-story dwelling at 5832 N. Hermitage Ave. is currently Edgewater's most expensive house at $1,425,000.

Listed Wednesday by @properties, the 4,600-square-foot home boasts six bedrooms, a chef's kitchen with stainless steel appliances and quartz countertops, a remote-controlled fireplace, an expansive back deck with yard and fire pit, wine cellar, his-and-hers walk-in closets and brick four-car garage.

A dry bar, sauna and steam room, and rooms designed with vaulted, cathedral-like ceilings help round out some of the home's high-end features.

The house sits on a 6,440 square-foot lot on a residential, tree-lined street near the northernmost tip of Andersonville's Clark Street business strip, and across from the historic Rosehill Cemetery.

Though now an example of modern real estate styles that have been developing over the last few years in the Edgewater/Andersonville area, the house on Hermitage Avenue replaced a stout, dark-bricked bungalow built in the 1920s and last sold for $532,500 in 2014.
