CHICAGO — A 27-year-old man was shot in Greater Grand Crossing Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The man was in the 7400 block of South Stewart Avenue at 1:24 p.m. when shots rang out, said Officer Kevin Quaid, a Chicago Police spokesman.

He was struck in his abdomen and was brought to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, Quaid said.

The man is being uncooperative with officers, Quaid said. He is also a documented gang member, according to police.
