Englewood Shootings Leave 2 Wounded, Police Say

CHICAGO — Two men were wounded in separate shootings within 20 minutes of each other in Englewood Tuesday night, police said.

• First, at 9:20 p.m., a 33-year-old man was driving in the 6400 block of South Sangamon Street when he heard gunshots and felt pain, police said.

The man was brought to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound in his back, police said. Police could not provide his condition but said he was "stable."

Police said he is a documented gang member.

• At 9:38 p.m., a 39-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk in the 6000 block of South Paulina Avenue when two men walked up and shot at him, police said.

The man was brought to an area hospital, where he was considered "stable" with gunshot wounds in both his thighs, police said.

No one was in custody for either shooting, police said.
