CHICAGO — A 19-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were wounded in a Back of the Yards shooting Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

The pair were walking on the sidewalk in the 5100 block of South Wolcott Avenue at 12:45 p.m. when shots rang out, said Officer Kevin Quaid, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The woman was shot in her leg and was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, Quaid said.

The man was struck in his buttocks and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital before being transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital in what police were considering to be "stable" condition.

No arrests have been made.
