PORTAGE PARK — Beloved 1980s cult classic "The Goonies" will be shown on a big screen under the stars at a drive-in movie at Six Corners at 7 p.m. Friday.

Promising old-time entertainment with a modern spin, organizers with the the Six Corners Association will transform the parking lot at 3930 N. Milwaukee Ave. into a drive-in — or walk in — movie theater.

Tickets for the event, which are available online, are $30 per car, $15 per adult pedestrian or $5 per child pedestrian. Sound will be broadcast through radios, organizers said.

Orginally set for Sept. 30, the movie was rescheduled because of severe weather, organizers said.

"The Goonies," released in 1985, tells the story of a group of friends who try to save their homes from demolition and discover the long-lost fortune of a 17th-century pirate while battling a family of criminals.
