BRIDGEPORT — A new restaurant is coming to the neighborhood, according to Ald. Patrick D. Thompson (11th).

It’s called Tria — a full-service breakfast, lunch and dinner restaurant at 3300 S. Halsted St., a now vacant building that used to house Calabruzzi's Cafe and Thirty3 Bar & Grill.

Serving American food, the restaurant will be operated by the Bertucci Family, the same family that owns Fabulous Freddies Italian Eatery.

“They’ve just filed for their zoning change,” Thompson said. “They’re moving forward. … That’ll be terrific.”

Expected to open across the street from Nana Organic in 2017, the restaurant represents new life along the Halsted Street corridor, Thompson said.

“Hopefully it’ll create some momentum there,” Thompson said.

The Bertucci Family was not immediately available for comment.
