CHICAGO — A 21-year-old man was critically injured after he jumped in front of a train at the Lake Red Line CTA station Sunday morning, police said.

The man jumped in front of an oncoming train at 9:01 a.m., according to Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was brought to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition was listed as "very critical," Lemmon said.

Red Line trains were briefly rerouted above ground between Fullerton and Cermak-Chinatown, but normal service has since been restored, according to CTA officials.
