CHICAGO — A 23-year-old man was wounded in an Englewood shooting that also caught a dog in the crossfire early Sunday afternoon, police said.

At 12:35 p.m., the man was walking in the 1500 block of Marquette Road when a group of men ran toward him through a nearby alleyway, and one of them began shooting, according to Officer Michelle Tannehill, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was shot in his buttocks and brought to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, Tannehill said.

One of the gunshots hit a dog in its leg, Tannehill said.

No one was in custody, police said.
